Frequently asked questions
Does MediaVault upload my photos or videos anywhere?
No. Scanning, catalogs, search, and duplicate detection all run on your machine. The only online interaction is activating your license.
What happens when my trial ends?
The 30-day trial includes every feature, capped at 7 drives. After it ends you can keep viewing what's cataloged, and a one-time license unlocks everything again.
Is it a subscription?
No. You pay once per machine — see the pricing above for exact rates and machine limits.
Which platforms?
Windows first. macOS and Linux builds exist but aren't fully validated yet.
How do I pay, and how fast do I get my license?
Payments are handled by Razorpay — UPI, credit and debit cards, and netbanking all work. Your license key appears on screen the moment payment completes, and a copy is emailed to you.
What if I'm not sure it's for me?

Do I get updates?
Yes. All updates to MediaVault are free for license holders. There's no maintenance fee and nothing expires.
Can I move a license to a new machine?
Yes. Deactivate the old machine from inside the app (Settings → License) and activate the new one. Your license covers the number of machines you bought, wherever they are.
