If you've got a video of a song — a music video, someone's live cover, a lesson recording — you already have everything you need to hear the vocal on its own, or the instrumental on its own. You don't need to track down a "karaoke version" or someone else's isolated vocal upload; OraKara makes both out of the file you already have.

Learn the melody, then sing over the backing track

Solo the vocal to learn a tricky melody or harmony line by ear, phrase by phrase. Once you've got it, switch to the music track and sing the part yourself over a backing track that isn't missing anything — same tempo, same key, same recording, just without the original singer in the way.

How it actually pulls the two apart

Under the hood, OraKara runs Demucs v4, a model trained to recognize what a singing voice sounds like inside a full mix, and uses that to split the track into a vocal stem and a backing "music" stem. It runs locally — on your GPU if you have one capable of it, on CPU otherwise — with nothing uploaded and no connection needed after the model's one-time download.

Either way you use it — as a shortcut to a backing track, or as a way to isolate a part you're trying to learn — the output is the same two clean tracks, ready for the synced player.
